Eight years at Shawflex coordinating shipping and receiving operations — where staying calm when the numbers get tight and the deadline doesn't move is the job.
A background that spans logistics, retail management, and hands-on construction — all pointed at the same thing: getting the job done right, on time, without drama. Organized under pressure, direct with people, and comfortable owning a shipment from the dock to the delivery. Three things tend to come up whenever I look back at how I got here:
Eight years running daily shipping and receiving at Shawflex — coordinating inbound production against outbound carrier pickups, keeping every shipment MTO-compliant, and working daily in Microsoft Office and IFS to keep the numbers straight. 15+ years licensed on counterbalance, reach truck, and order picker forklifts, moving loads over 5,000 lbs.
Close to a decade managing departments at Lowe's Canada and Rona — building and coaching teams of 16–17, hitting sales targets, and handling escalated customer issues face to face. That's where I learned to lead people, not just processes.
Years running my own construction and renovation business, working from blueprints and staying accountable to the Ontario Building Code — backed by an Architectural Design Technician diploma and a Micro-Computer Technical Certificate from Humber College.
